Edinburgh South Cricket – Adult and Youth Cricket, working in schools and Community, Part time DO Edinburgh South Football Club– Youth football, teams at every age group up to 16 - boys and girls, working in Schools and Community Three clubs, all active in the Community playing in same Council Park with poor or non existent facilities, same challenge - either have to move, fold, or die slowly over following years due to lack of facilities. All wishing to be genuinely sustainable, expand, and be in control of their own future. Three Clubs – one challenge – commenced in 1993 !!

Severe social problems in some areas. 4 Senior Secondary, 14 Primary Schools Poor or non existent sporting facilities – lack of opportunities to participate in sport The Core Clubs created the “umbrella” of IPCSC as first step in process to address and resolve the issues IPCSC consulted widely, took on board comment and endeavoured to provide solutions, Councillors, Community Council, Neighbourhood groups, Area Sports Forum, Schools IPCSC Created plan to address sporting needs and to promote solutions in other areas through sport

Plan and design new facilities, raise funding, (massive benefit in kind from club members), obtain consents. Build a new fit for purpose Pavilion in the park, able to be used by the Clubs and Community with a design that aligned to a number of uses / users, and a sustainable business plan. Upgrade pitches in a phased manner, last of first phase being new rugby pitch Create sustainable business model to run and operate facilities, and from there go out into the Community to expand delivery, based on that already in place by the Clubs, as well as provide a welcoming base for Community use / involvement Work in Partnership with local Schools and assist in development and delivery of sport in schools, linking back to the clubs and the facility. Work in partnership with Community groups and other clubs. Work in partnership and provide solutions with other public bodies, Police, Social Services, Health Centres Pro actively create opportunities to participate in sport and exercise, for all ages. Continue evolving and be prepared to change. Be Pragmatic.

Has ground lease, raises funds, constructed facilities, employs development staff. Inch Park Trading Ltd – wholly owned subsidiary of IPCSC. Runs and maintains pavilion, pitches, bar, cleaning etc. Collects rent for use of same. All users including core clubs pay a rental. Core clubs – run “as is” independently with own existing identities, but within overall Community Development plan Other users – Community, Community groups, Other Clubs – Community use have soft rentals to encourage use in line with our Community and Club Development plan. Other users pay normal rental. Partnerships / Working Together Essential for delivery and growth, Key Partners – The Community, Community Groups, City of Edinburgh Council, Council Officers, Schools, Sport Scotland, SRU and other Governing bodies, other clubs, local and national government agencies, funders. However completion of the Pavilion, has only enabled us to reach the real beginning

Inch Park Community Sports Club (IPCSC) is a charity registered in Scotland, No: SC Registered Office is at Stuart House, Eskmills, Musselburgh EH21 7PB The End of The Beginning The Current Delivery – Now growing capacity on that already in place Now have, full time Club Development Manager, FT Rugby, PT Football, PT Multi sport, PT cricket DO’s, all working in Community, Schools and Clubs, delivering and training others to deliver. Core clubs continue and expand their existing club and Community development, but now to agreed Club Development plans, signed off and policed by the Club Development Manager and by their Governing Bodies. All fitting in with IPCSC Overall Development Plan. We are commencing delivery of Dance, mothers and toddlers, yoga, keep fit for over 50’s, choir and music base. Weddings booked !! In partnership with schools commencing delivery of homework and after school clubs, based on sport, at our facilities. In partnership with school and further education establishments, have started “learning through sport” programme, 2 year course for S5 and 6 pupils, training them with outcome of having local young people delivering local events, and prospect of entry into further education in Sport. Running Easter and Summer camps in all sports, plus Dance club. Hosting Community meetings for other groups Hosting other clubs, and assisting their development Commencing Street Rugby and Street Football in conjunction with other agencies Linking with local health centres and professionals for us to deliver programmes in the Community on their behalf
