Welcome to the InterNations Shanghai Charity Group Kick-off Jun 16, 2013

Agenda About this group Introduction of “Head start, heart go” Group activities plan Share your ideas Target for kick-off meeting: Get to know all group members before we start the first activity. All members get the chance to ask questions and get a deeper insight of the project.

About this group Help disadvantaged children in Shanghai and the rural areas in western China. Bring more values, opportunities and knowledge to those children and to support them completing their school education. We will also have donation activities for second hand books and clothing. What can be expected from the project? Our vision is: Share love with children and our world. (one group one project – help children) (unreasonable expectations can be frustrating)

Introduction of HSHG Founded in 2005, HSHG is a non-profit organization based on Shanghai and committed to help children in the Western China. Our basic project is one-on-one which to donate funds to those poor children in the Western China for completing their school education. We also have charity activity, Happy Classroom Project, to bring new knowledge and information to students. Partner organization

Group activities plan Happy classroom -- in Anhui province We will organize volunteers every quarter to visit primary schools in Anhui province to share more knowledge and happiness with those lovely children. Those children will also give you a big surprise in return definitely. Two days on weekend. 07:46am on Saturday morningDeparture from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station 11:13am on SaturdayArrive at Hefei City and rent a vehicle to school afternoon on SaturdayShare knowledge and games with students Morning on SundayFarm work with students 14:22pm on SundayDepart from Hefei to Shanghai Video: s/view/yzQGeBIkb3U/ Every quarter for everyone who know little mandarin

Group activities plan Donate second cloth and books for kids Every month or two month for everyone One consul to manage donation activities. The books, cloth, transportation expense. In China unregistered NGO can not get money from public. All fund-raising campaigns have to be approved by InterNations

Group activities plan Local school activities Every month for everyone There are some local schools focus on the children whose original hometown are in different cities in China. (yes, in China we have local children schools and non-local children schools) we will organize the volunteers to see these children, teach them painting, singing, sports, English songs, games something like these. But for these volunteers need to know some basic Chinese. Share your culture story Share your travel story Teach English, song, play games Should have interview and make plan according your advantage

Group activities plan Autistic kids Every two month for everyone There are 2 famous Autistic kids NGO in Shanghai. We will bring our volunteers to play with these children.

Group activities plan One-on-one program for children in Westen China Only for those who know Chinese HSHG has launched One-on-one projects since Schools give us the list of poor students or orphans. We let volunteers (normally from other cities) visit the Western China to collect more information about those families and to verify the information offered by schools. With our years’ standard process, volunteers will discuss and determine who will get chance to put their information on HSHG website. (We only put background and family story on website, neither private photos nor family member names. Only contributor who attends one-on-one project and has connection with this child could reach complete information). After HSHG picks the one-on-one contributor for this child, the contributor will transfer the funds to the contracted teacher and the teacher will deliver the cash to child every month to prevent poor family parents from occupying the funds. We currently have Chinese one-on-one projects only on HSHG website. We suggest contributors to communicate with children by letters frequently. We therefore prefer Chinese people to help those children. If you really want to help those children please feel free to contact us via . Normal donation standard: - Primary school student ( 小学生) : RMB500 / year - Junior school student ( 初中生) : RMB1000 / year - Senior school student ( 高中生 ): RMB2000 / year * For some orphans or very poor family, we will indicate individual costs for each of them.

Group activities plan Voluntary family visiting activities to Westen China Only for Adults more than 25 years old How to make sure the student information for one-on-one projects all real and accurate? We have voluntary family visiting project every year. We do not have fixed schedule for family-visiting activities every year because all volunteers are from different cities in China. It will not be safe in summer to the Western China due to terrible rain season. Please check our forum and recent family-visiting plan. All volunteers have to take interviews and trainings before you go to the Western China. All volunteers must buy insurance policy for your trip. All expense during family-visiting will be paid by volunteer themselves. Family-visting time cost: -To Anhui or Zhejiang: 2 days (weekend) - To SuiNing City in Sichuan: 3 days - To Shanxi ( 陕西 ): 5-7 days - To XiChang City in Sichuan: 15+ days Family visiting project is a good chance to know real life in the Western China.

Group chart Charity consul Activity lead Activity lead Activity lead Activity lead The Charity Consul is the person who is managing the Charity Group and its Activities. He or she is the link between the respective organization and InterNations. Once the organization is selected, Activities are organized by the Charity Consul and InterNations members can start volunteering in the project. The most important role as a Charity Consul is to ensure that there are Activities taking place every month. Please note that everybody can post Activities! As the Charity Group focuses only on one project per community it is very important that only Activities related to this specific project are posted.
