Location Latitude 36° 01' to 42° 37' N Longitude 113° 31' to 119° 53' E Surrounded by Liaoning, Neimongol, Shanxi, Henan, Shandong, Beijing, Tianjin Directly above the Yellow River

Place =Hebei The population (counted in 2009) is 69,890,000 Different ethnic groups include Han (96%), Manchu (3%), Hui (0.8%), and Mongol (0.3%) They speak Jin and Mandarin Some customs are to have fireworks on Chinese New Years, and to have annual festivals. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is 2.01 trillion yuen The government is communist =Hebei

Geography Borders Bohai sea on the east Most of central and southern Hebei are within the North China Plain The western part of Hebei rises into the Taihang Mountains The Yan Mountains run through northern Hebei The highest peak is Mount Xiaowutai in northwestern Hebei The Hai He watershed covers most of the province's central and southern parts The Luan He watershed covers the northeast There are numerous reservoirs to be found in Hebei's hills and mountains The largest lake in Hebei is Baiyangdian Hebei has a continental monsoon climate, with temperatures of -16 to -3 °C in January and 20 - 27 °C in July

Flora and Fauna There are more than 3,000 species of plants including corn, wheat, sorghum, millet, potatoes, rice, soybeans, peanuts, rape, sesame, mushrooms, cotton, ambary hemp, silk cocoons, tobacco, chestnuts, apricots, grapes, walnuts, dates, persimmons, pears, salt, and many different types of trees, flowers, and grasses. There are many animals including the red deer, wild boar, wolf, raccoon dog, red fox, leopard cat, steppe polecat, Japanese yellow weasel, greater horseshoe bat, Japanese long-winged bat, Amur hedgehog, Tolai hare, striped field mouse, house mouse, black rat, greater long-tailed hamster, and the Siberian chipmunk.

Region Some metropolitan cities are Shijiazhuang, Baoding, Tangshan, Qinhuangdao, Handan, and Zhangjiakou. The Hai is the major river drainage system. Climate region is temperate with a continental monsoon climate. Shared characteristics of the whole area are mountains, hills, rivers, etc. Land area is 187,700 km2 (72,500 sq mi)

Human Environment Interaction There are many dams in Hebei, including the largest hydroelectric dam in the world, Three Gorges Dam. The Southern Canal is one of the canals that run through Hebei. There is some irrigation in Hebei province. Other man-made structures in Hebei include part of the Ming Great Wall, and, of course, cities, streets, temples, bridges, and other things like that.

Movement There were no indians to be forced onto reservations. There was no slavery. Some crops they make include corn, wheat, sorghum, millet, potatoes, rice, soybeans, peanuts, rape, sesame, mushrooms, cotton, ambary hemp, silk cocoons, tobacco, chestnuts, apricots, grapes, walnuts, dates, persimmons, pears, salt. Iron, steel, coal, petroleum, and a wide range of machinery are all manufactured goods. Plus there are important coal deposits in the east and south. There were many ideas that the people borrowed or shared with the other regions in China because most, if not all, of China was ruled by the same person or family.
