Objective Purpose: Design and build an off road vehicle for competition. Tasks: Integrate four-wheel steering, assist with new suspension design, and redesign gearbox Budget: $12,000 Complete by April 30, 2015 Goal: Place in the top ½ of competitors overall.

Work Breakdown Gearbox Members: John Merritt Overall team leader Lead Design Frances Othersen Analytical testing James Chapman Design/Material Selection Suspension/ Four-wheel Steering Members: Chris Davis Analytical Testing Joseph Fanning Lead design

Statement of Work Redesign helical based gearbox Redesign suspension and four wheel steering Prototypes, Mach-up, and Test fitting Assembly Design road test Administer road test Driver Selection and competition preparation

Current Progress Gear design is about 80% done. Gearbox is currently being designed. Shaft and gear selection are complete. Four wheel steering design 75% done. Hub is designed Trailing arm is designed Linkage in progress Right isometric view of interior gearbox layout Top view of interior gearbox layout Left Isometric view of Right Hand Rear Swing Arm

Next Steps Finalize all designs and analytically test them Perform finite element analysis for frame Prototype gearbox and suspension components 3-D printing of gears Manufacturing Assembly Testing 2014-2015 Frame Design
