Contract Monitoring TAG Report TUG Conference Monday, October 8, 2007

Mission Statement: The mission of Contract Monitoring TAG is to assist the TUG in advocating for and supporting the analysis of TRNS*PORT data as it relates to construction projects from conception to finalization.

GOALS Long Term –Provide guidance for Trns*port applications to preserve and enhance the analytical capabilities and functionality that reside in BAMS/DSS. –Promote flexible inter-active/analytical tools that could work in conjunction with “decision support” data –Support a diversity of output formats –Continue to advocate and guide the rewrite of BAMS/DSS

–Long term goals (continued) Promote awareness of the full analytical capabilities of BAMS/DSS including but not limited to: –competition modeling –fraud detection –general contract monitoring –comparison of as-bid to as-built data –identification of “bid items of concern” for construction personnel –Methods of evaluating design-build contracts and lump sum items –addressing modeling techniques to improve estimate quality

Short-term Goals Protect and enhance the quality and usability of the Trns.port data during the development of web Trns*port database. Survey all Trns*port agencies to determine how they are utilizing the DSS models and database
