Hmm.. Hamlet does have schizophrenia

As evident, Hamlet is one of the only characters who can see his father’s ghost. Not only that, but he can also communicate with him. Given this, it is possible that Hamlet has been having hallucinations about his father, thus categorizing him as a schizophrenic character.

Bipolar disorder (also known as manic depression) causes serious shifts in mood, energy, thinking, and behavior– from the highs of mania on one extreme, to the lows of depression on the other. In the famous To Be or Not To Be soliloquy that has been much overused, lies Hamlet’s most dramatic example of a bipolar disorder. Hamlet has a dilemma between living and dying, in which he express many feelings that back up his desire for each thought. Hamlet has these Feelings simultaneously, thus categorizing him as bipolar.
