Genital Herpes (HSV) Caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus Starts showing as tiny clusters of blisters that turn to ulcers Occurring on the female genitals or the penis of the male

Genital Herpes (HSV) ***May be spread to the MOUTH!!!***

Genital Herpes (HSV) SPREAD/CONTRACTED: -unprotected vaginal sex -unprotected anal sex -unprotected oral sex Direct touch skin-to-skin

Genital Herpes (HSV) SYMPTOMS: Feelings of fatigue Feelings of fever or mild fever noted Painful blisters Itching Reddened skin areas

CONT’D Formed in groups When red and blistered areas leave, ulcers take their place. Ulcers form a crust and may heal leaving a scar.

Genital Herpes (HSV) Complications: The virus hides in nerve endings and reoccurs when the host person is stressed in any other way.

Gonorrhea Information SYMPTOMS: -Men and women if infected in the rectum have pain, bleeding and discharge. - Severe sore throats and severe hoarseness with reluctance to speak for both genders infected in the throat.

Hepatitis B Information CAUSES: -Caused by a virus that invades the liver 100 times more infectious than HIV. This STD can be prevented by a vaccine.

Scabies ARE DIFFERENT THAN PUBIC LICE!!!!!!! Scabies is caused by female mites which burrow under the skin to lay their eggs, causing skin irritation

Scabies SYMPTOMS: -intense itching at night Small red bumps and rashes develop 4-6 weeks after contact anywhere on the skin except head and neck

Scabies COMPLICATIONS: -”aesthetic”

Scabies TREATMENT: -YES. (special lotions or sprays for all infected partners and roommates at the same time) -personal clothing and linens should be washed, dry-cleaned, or sealed in a plastic bag and placed in a freezer for 3 days

Scabies CURE? -yes.

Syphilis Information Caused by the Treponema pallidum bacterium which develop a staged disease over years. HIGHLY contagious, but cannot survive outside the body. Affects the skin and any organ.

Syphilis Information SPREAD/CONTRACTED: -contact with infected blood, semen, vaginal fluids or pus.

Syphilis Information -mother to unborn -direct touch -close body contact -unprotected anal sex

Syphilis Information -unprotected vaginal sex -unprotected oral sex -kissing Injecting blood (needle sharing)

Syphilis Information SYMPTOMS: -early stages shows painless sores, swollen glands, and skin rashes. -sores may be inside the vagina or anus and go unnoticed

AIDS Information -unprotected anal sex -unprotected vaginal sex -unprotected oral sex -injection of tainted blood
