Fundamental goal to provide the lowest cost solution to our customers. Energy efficiency produces round-the-clock load reduction, and demand response results in peak load reduction Development costs are generally high on Long Island, and resources require location-specific electric and gas interconnection costs that can be significant Energy efficiency has proven to be the lowest cost resource, with limited price volatility Cost of Achieved National Energy Efficiency vs. Supply Options Source: ACEEE and Lazard, 2013 The levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) represents the per kWh cost of building and operating a generating plant or other energy resource over an assumed financial life of the investment; LCOE should represent the price a new energy resource needs in the market to be financially viable. Critical assumptions in the Lazard analysis are based on national averages, and generally costs are higher on Long Island than nationwide. Includes 30% Federal Investment Tax Credit for solar PV.

2014 Commercial Efficiency Program Commercial Rebates are available for all businesses, schools, and municipal agencies for both existing facilities and for new construction Rebates are available for the following measures: HVAC (Heating, Ventilating & Air Conditioning) Lighting (including fluorescent lighting , LED lighting, motion, daylight, and occupancy sensors, LED Exit Signs) Chillers Compressors & Air Dryers Cool Roof Kitchen Equipment & Vending Machines Refrigeration Equipment Variable Frequency Drives Custom rebates can be calculated for any measure that saves energy, even if not listed here

Energy Efficient Lighting Solution This is a typical example of a 10,000 square foot office space. The existing lighting is more than 5 years old. Existing fixtures are 2 lamp 4’ 40 Watt T12 fixtures with magnetic ballasts Original fixtures will be completely replaced with new 2' x 4' LED fixtures The fixtures selected for this application are recessed and have a wide distribution to enhance the brightness of vertical surfaces. They are most appropriate for spaces with low ceilings and high partitions. They are spaced 8' by 10' on center Same layout as Option A, except some of these fixtures contain a fixture mounted daylight sensor that controls a series of fixtures around the perimeter of the space.

Energy Assessment Program PSEG Long Island provides services for facilities to assess their current and future energy demands and analyze energy conservations measures – free of charge to customers. Energy Assessment An assessment consists of informative walkthrough of an existing facility where existing data is collected on HVAC, Lighting, Roofing, and power equipment.
