Виды условных предложений

First conditionals Используются для обозначения реальных действий в будущем e.g. If you read this report you will understand our economic situation much better. If clause Main clause If/unless + Pr. Simple Will + infinitive

Second conditionals Используются для обозначения воображаемых действий в будущем, которые невозможны или маловероятны e.g. If I went to “Who wants to be a Millionaire?” I would win a lot of money. If clause Main clause If/unless + Past Would + infinitive

Third conditionals Используются для обозначения воображаемых действий в прошлом, которые могли бы произойти при определенных условиях e.g. If we had driven faster we would have crashed on that slippery road. If clause Main clause If/unless + Past Perfect Would + Perfect infinitive

Mixed conditionals Используются для обозначения воображаемых ситуаций в прошлом, которые могли бы иметь результат в настоящем e.g. If I had more self-confidence I would have applied for this job (… but I wasn’t confident, so I haven’t). e.g. If the rescue team hadn’t found him he would be dead (… but they found him, so he is alive).

Mixed conditionals Используются для обозначения воображаемых ситуаций в настоящем, которые могли бы повлиять на результат в прошлом e.g. If Anna was here she would have known what to do (… but Anna isn’t here, so she can’t help us). e.g. If she didn’t love driving she wouldn’t have become a taxi driver (… she loves driving, so she became a taxi driver).
