Eiffel Tower Originally created as the centrepiece of Paris’ Exposition Universelle in 1889, in commemoration of the centenary of the French Revolution. It was, until 1929, the tallest structure in the world; although that record was broken many years ago, there are still superb views over Paris from the first floor, which can be reached by a stairway, and even better views from the third floor, which is accessible by lift. Versailles The Palace of Versailles is one of the most visited sites in France and famous for its immense size. Today, visitors are still able to view much of the palace, including the renowned 75m (250ft) Galerie des Glaces (Hall of Mirrors), where the Treaty of Versailles was signed in 1919, signifying the end of World War I. Louvre On their first visit to the Louvre, people often want to see the museum’s three great ladies — the Venus de Milo, the Victory of Samothrace, and Mona Lisa. When the museum first opened in 1793, playing host to the former royal collections, its goal was to provide illustrious educational models for the artists of the future to ensure the revival of the “grand style” of the past. Vatican City Originally, the official residence of the bishops of Rome was not the Vatican, but the Lateran Palace, which once belonged to the Roman family of the Laterans, and was donated to the Roman Church. At this point in History St. Peter's was an out of the way basilica reserved for burials. The first to build at the Vatican was Pope Symmachus in 501. In 781 Charlemagne altered, for his own use, a palace standing to the north of the basilica. Eugene III built a "new palace", which Innocent III enlarged and enclosed within turreted walls. Colosseum This new 7th Wonder of the World is a must see in Rome! Of all the monuments in Rome the Colosseum, built in AD 72, thrills the most. It was here that gladiators met in mortal combat & prisoners fought off hungry lions. Image from aboutroma

Pantheon The Pantheon, one of Rome's top tourist attractions, is located in Piazza della Rotunda, in the heart of the Centro Storico. The Largo Argentina bus and tram stops are just a couple of minuets away, with the nearest metro station, Spagna, being about a 15 minute walk.
