What is an AEP?

AEPs specialise in clinical exercise interventions for a broad range of pathological populations.

The aims of AEP interventions are to prevent acute or manage sub-acute or chronic disease or injury, and assist in restoring one’s optimal physical function, health or wellness.

Physical inactivity is now the 4th leading cause of ill- health and disability in Australia, and globally causes more deaths that smoking.

Cardiorespiratory fitness is a strong and independent predictor of all-cause and cardiovascular disease mortality.

A persons who is overweight/obese can achieve significant improvements in blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar through exercise, even without weight-loss

Extensive evidence supports exercise as having a positive impact on 9 out of the 9 identified national health priority areas. Arthritis and MSK Asthma Cancer Cardiovascular health Diabetes Injury prevention Obesity Mental health Dementia

Exercise, it WORKS!

And we are the BEST at what we do.

AEPs are well positioned to champion the cause of chronic disease prevention, management and treatment by promoting physical activity. (British Journal of Sports Medicine, 2011)
