But also consulting on an individual basis is an option requiring the consultants to visit the farmers. Promotion of local integrated development through coordination with and integration of its services into the main development plans of Suharekë / Suva Reka (MDP, UDP and LDS) and the strategic plans of the Municipality and other local development actors. Lobbying for policy and legal changes in the interests of the farmers and local business community in order to create an enabling environment. For example, concerning infrastructure improvements (access to markets) or improved credit terms (access to investment). Financial support for local business- oriented development projects via the disbursement of small grants from an independent Fund

IRDSu Integrated regional development in the Municipality of Suharekë/Suva Reka in the sector of agriculture SHORT TERM OBJECTIVES OF THE LDF The LDF Foundation is operational and ready to function as a grant giving local development fund Local population of the southern economic region of Kosovo is aware of grants and services offered by LDF Foundation Access for getting first hand information about LDF services and grants and opportunity to apply for the LDF grant programs is enabled for the local population. The quantity and quality of received proposals is increased and enhanced Ensure smooth and progressive implementation of the funded projects Contribute in creation of benchmarking models in sectors of agriculture and rural development Initial funding strategy document is designed for the LDF Foundation

Number of new sustainable employment opportunities for local population; especially women, youth and minorities have been generated out of the implementation of LDF funded programs. Contribute to the creation of a more competitive agricultural industry in southern economic region of Kosovo Improving market access for the local farmers through better supply chain management Agricultural and rural sustainable development initiatives supported by LDF will be oriented around key issues such as new technologies, farmer productivity, key agricultural policies, and connections between farmers and markets Contribute to the creation of more unique regional products or branding (i.e. organic, etc)

Stimulate new rurally-based businesses and create new jobs for the local population in the region Supporting synergies between agriculture and other forms of businesses Support interventions aiming at addressing poverty and long term unemployment of unemployed women, youth and minority communities for engaging in the agriculture and rural development. Continuously improve the LDF program portfolio through addressing the funding opportunities in Kosovo.
