Pennsylvania Association of Colleges and Teacher Educators The purpose of PAC-TE as the voice for professional educator preparation in Pennsylvania is to: promote quality professional educator preparation programs, and provide opportunity for individual professional growth for all persons in Pennsylvania engaged in professional educator preparation.

PAC-TE is proud to be an affiliate of ATE (the Association of Teacher Educators) and AACTE (the Association of Colleges and Teacher Educators)

Past President Jay Hertzog accepts the 2014 Association of Teacher Educators Unit Award for Member/Management.

Volunteer to Pilot Our Instructional Module on Bullying the first of a series of modules to help our members prepare pre-service teachers in school safety and the prevention of violence pre and post tests, discussion scenarios, self-reflection questions, research-based information/skills/strategies, teaching notes, resources funding from ATE Leadership Foundation for Teacher Education and PAC-TE Contact Kathy Jones –

School Safety and Prevention of Violence Committee Belief Statement Committed to safe schools and by extension safe communities, we believe that pre-service teachers should be prepared to help ALL students to learn and feel safe and accepted in their schools and communities. Pre-service teachers should exhibit empathy and compassion for ALL students and try to holistically understand what children are experiencing.

PAC-TE’s Strategic Plan Goal # 2 Use alternative delivery formats to expand & extend PAC-TE’s professional development offerings & networking opportunities convene an expert group to provide suggestions on alternative delivery of our current conferences beginning with the Spring 2015 conference, discuss those recommendations with the Spring Conference and TEA Planning Committees and the Board of Directors, and implement the recommendations approved by the Planning Committees and the Board of Directors explore the use of and possibly implement the use of social networking to provide information, professional development, and networking for members

PAC-TE’s Strategic Plan Goal # 3 Expand PAC-TE membership and membership involvement in PAC-TE involve junior faculty in PAC-TE increase PAC-TE’s “cool” factor increase the number of working committees and the involvement of members in working committees

PAC-TE’s Strategic Plan Goal # 4 Increase PAC-TE income through revenue sources beyond membership & conference registration, consistent with its mission obtain legal & accounting advice on how to implement this goal within federal & state law & regulation establish principles, policies, and procedures for implementing this goal based on legal and accounting advice approve, appoint chair and members, & charge a Sponsorship Committee to make recommendations for & support sponsorships of PAC-TE conferences journal solicit conference program ads & other conference sponsorships solicit journal ads
