Back To School Welcome to 8th Grade!

Classes…. Mrs. Klepitsch/Mr. Shiel: Reading, Writing, Social Studies, Listening, Speaking, Research Literacy (Reading/Writing) and Social Studies are fully integrated (taught together) Schedules Executive Functioning (goal setting, organization, study skills) You are expected to have your student planners with you at all times. Reading Common Core Test Prep

Homeroom Enter through SE doors Locker and straight to room (no bathroom w/out permission) Late Arrivals – Stop at the office to get pass Early Dismissal – I will not release you until the office calls for you. Do not leave the classroom without permission. Bathroom – Permission and sign out on the log

Library and Signing Out Books Independent Reading – You are expected to read 20 – 30 minutes 5 nights per week – minimum! Two “book reports” per quarter. First due date – Friday, Sept. 26 Procedure for signing out books from the library Log books as you finish them. They will be recorded at the end of the quarter. Part of your Reading grade.

Behavior Outside of Classroom Other stuff…. Late Work Behavior Outside of Classroom Loss of points for every day it is late (equaling one grade lower) It will not be accepted after two days of being late. Failure to turn in the assignment will result in a F for that assignment. My expectations are that you treat every adult with the same respect you treat me. S.O.A.R. OLWEUS

Other Stuff…. Homework Board Dismissal Daily assignments written on the board. Track homework in student planners for every subject, every day! Check the monthly planner for important events Bigger projects, papers, etc. will be posted on Ebinger website, my page. NO ONE IS TO LEAVE THE ROOM UNTIL I DISMISS YOU! Clean up your area, pick up loose papers and other materials off of the floor and put in recycling or garbage bin. Chairs will be stacked in a neat and orderly fashion. Go to your locker when dismissed and line up at the top of the SW staircase.
