 What is AVID?  AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a national program in which participating schools work together to help students reach their academic and life goals. AVID 9

 AVID instructors have received intensive training in teaching techniques that actively engage their students in learning. AVID 10

 Students who spent at least four hours in the AVID Center have an 83% passing rate in their courses.  The overall retention rate for all of the AVID Learning Communities is 72.2%.  MHCC’s average retention rate is 73.5%. AVID Center Data 17
