GRENADA

 Incomplete Work plan  The Officer previously charged with the responsibility of collecting data has been seconded to another office since 2012  No officer was re-assigned because of limited human resource in department.  Hence, no Inter-Agency meeting was held  Contact was recently made with most stakeholders informing them of need for data collection for these indicators  A list of organisations and their focal point for data collection was developed  Intend to have follow-up meetings upon return to office targeting organisations and respective focal point.

 Limited experience in the collection of Environmental data collection at the CSO  The line ministries do not collect and disseminate data in the way in is required by CARICOM for the Caribbean Specific Indicators.  Ministries have been given templates and spreadsheets from external agencies in the past for compilation of data and indicators but have limited understanding of the metadata and formulas in these spread sheets.

 No Human Resource Ministry of Agriculture……… to focus on collection of environment data.  The contact persons in Environment was transferred to another ministry  In Ministry of Health focal point is not clear for data on Environmental Health  Limited trained and competent staff to collect and compile data.

 In country assistance to develop a strong foundation for environmental data collection within the CSO  Specific training and assistance is needed for line ministries and agencies in the production of the required indicators.

 A colorless, odorless, flammable gas that is the main constituent of natural gas. It is the simplest member of the alkane series of hydrocarbons

 a colorless gas with a sweetish odor, prepared by heating ammonium nitrate. It produces exhilaration or anesthesia when inhaled and is used as an anesthetic and as an aerosol propellant.

 All of these was placed into an already prepared Excel Worksheet so as to obtain the results for the indicator  Number or heads of different livestock – non-dairy cattle, poultry, swine, sheep, goat, asses, rabbits, horse  Total municipal solid waste generated  Proportion disposed to solid waste sites  Total national industrial output  Waste water produced per unit by industry

 All of these was placed into an already prepared Excel Worksheet so as to obtain the results for the indicator  Total synthetic fertilizer used  Production of dry pulses  Production of other crops

 Because IPCC ( Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) would have worked formulas into the initial excel spreadsheets given. A clear understanding of the formula used in computing this indicator is not known.
