I brush my teeth, take a shower, make coffee with water poured from a faucet. I may not think about it, but turn that water off for a week, and we will all know how essential water is to our lives.

Lake Travis is low and worse than that the area is so arid that we had numerous wild fires that burned hundreds of homes in this area. We need rain. We need water.

Last summer we felt that as numerous fires broke out in Bastrop and Austin. The fires then burned hundreds of homes. It was awful. The needed rain was gone. We needed water and in a drought fires are one of the results. Our community is still in a drought, and we hope that the needed rain will come soon so there will be no more wildfires, and no more homes will be burned. Water is very important in our world. In many third world countries, they need water to survive. They are not as prosperous as we are. If they have a drought, it could result in death, as no rain leads to no crops, which leads to no food, which leads to famine or starvation. I don’t think about it that often, but if I lived in a third world country, water would be a matter of life and death. Basically water is important. It increases my quality of life everyday I wake and brush my teeth, wash my face, and just get clean. If it doesn’t rain in my community it could be disastrous.
