Presentation transcript:

  We listened to your comments, needs, and concerns in using WEAVEonline for the past three years  We searched for an alternative to WEAVEonline that would better serve your needs  Many on campus used Compliance Assist for compiling the compliance documents (certification & focused report) for reaffirmation of accreditation with SACS and for creating the QEP LEAP document and found the system flexible and easy to use  We asked you all to come and see Compliance Assist at several meetings and give us feedback  Based on all this input, Compliance Assist was selected as the best choice for software to handle our ULPs and Program Review Why Compliance Assist?

 Basic ULP Structure

 ULP Components General guidelines  Goals (points of focus on annual to-do list)—what you are seeking to accomplish & linked to MCC’s strategic plan  2-6 (average is 3)  Strategies (methods of accomplishing your goals)—how will accomplish  Generally it takes 2 strategies per goal  Measures (a specific date, number, or measurable result that will let you know you accomplished what you set out to do)— helps you define the target/finish line  Normally the number of measures are about the same as number of goals (with a single measure being used for multiple strategies) The 3-year vision  Most recent year completed  What are lessons learned to improve/revise upcoming year?  Current year  Gather documentation and results throughout the year for inputting end-of-year results  Up-coming year  Based on findings from past and current year, develop a revised plan that will maximize improvement and make a compelling case for the upcoming budget allocations

 ULP Details Goals  The most useful goals are time specific and are stated in quantitative results- oriented terms (job descriptions are a good example of this)  Goals may be the same from year to year  When writing think about implementation dates and how you will measure  Use verbs like: improve, increase, enhance, achieve, reduce, evaluate, measure, expand, upgrade Strategies  Each goal will need two or more strategies  Strategies include specific activities that will lead to accomplishment of the goal  Use verbs like: create, investigate, establish, conduct, develop, analyze, attend, implement, provide

 ULP Examples Goal  Increase student enrollment in _____  Increase student retention in _____  Expand student opportunities in _____ Strategies  Develop a marketing plan for _____  Employ five EI methodologies for _____  Investigate the need for a certificate in _____ C

 Goal + Strategy = Results (your expected outcome) Examples of end-of-year results ( Remember include supporting documentation and any needed explanation):  Increased student enrollment by 3% between fall 2011 and fall 2012  Improved student retention by 2% during the school year  Increased the number of certificates by 3%  Improved student satisfaction by 5% ULP Year End Results

  Set goals  Establish strategies to accomplish goals  Provide measures for strategies  Link to MCC’s Strategic Plan  Collect data/evidence of accomplishments  As strategies are completed, save documentation  Make adjustments to plan, based on changing circumstances  Update plan throughout the year to show changes as needed Planning—Key Steps

 Planning Cycle The Big Picture Unit Level Plans Student Learning Outcomes Program Review Budget

 More Big Picture

 Now…Go to Compliance Assist and may the Force be with you
