APPROVALS all active Key Skills (3638) and pilot Functional Skills (3648) centres granted automatic approval for 3748 all Adult Numeracy/Literacy (3792), ESOL Skills for Life (3692) and ICT Skills for Life (3804) centres able to complete a fast track form other centres will need to complete a qualification approval (QAP) form 3748 has 3 complexes each complex is for 1 subject, but all levels for the subject © CITY & GUILDS 7

FUNCTIONAL ENGLISH consists of 3 parts Reading Writing Speaking, listening and communication each part is assessed separately learners must complete all parts certificate awarded at lowest level of achievement dictionaries are allowed at all levels © CITY & GUILDS 8

FUNCTIONAL MATHS single assessment for each level entry level may be split over more than 1 session dictionaries and calculators are allowed at all levels thematic tasks that require the candidate to determine which maths skills they need to use © CITY & GUILDS 9
