Tipperary Co. Co. COM Path Motion put to Council in January 2015 Passed at February 2015 meeting “That this council would declare itself a signatory to the European Covenant of Mayors that would commit this Council going beyond the objectives set by the EU for 2020, reducing the CO 2 emissions from energy with respect to the County of Tipperary, to submit a sustainable energy action plan including a detailed baseline emissions analysis and submit on-going implementation reports”

Vision for 2020… Energy Efficiency What if Half the homes in Tipperary were upgrade? Cost - €227M 75% stays local Saves 164GWh/year Saves €322M after 20 years AFTER capital costs Create 1800 direct and indirect jobs Societal net impact benefit of €1.13BILLION

Vision for 2020… Wind Energy What if ONLY 15% of the planned 600MW in Tipperary is community owned? €335M would stay in Tipperary

Vision for 2020… Solar Photovoltaic What if all 90 Public Buildings in Tipperary? Cost - €2.6M Saves €280K/year (current prices) 25 year savings of €8.2 M Create 4 jobs
