What is Action Research?

The aim of action research is to answer the question “How can I improve what is happening here?”

To challenge and/or confirm our beliefs and assumptions as teachers, ES and therapists

To have time to talk and share with colleagues about teaching and student outcomes

So staff can focus on what interests them as teachers, ES and therapists at a level appropriate to them

To put staff in the ‘learner’ situation where they are also engaged in inquiry

To contribute to the knowledge pool in our schools and our profession
