Girls and Puberty A good sign you're getting close to the time when your first period will arrive is if you notice a discharge coming from your vagina. It might be thin and slightly sticky or thick and gooey, and can be clear to white or off-white in color. Usually, this happens about 6 months before you get your first period.

Menstruation Menstruation (a period) is a major part of puberty for girls. Its one of many signs that a girl is turning into a woman . Having a period (MC / 月經) is a normal and natural part of being a woman. The period (the days you lose blood through the vagina) is part of a cycle of hormone and body changes. HELLO!

Cycle

MC / 月經

It usually lasts from 3-7 days. Besides bleeding, there may also be: The ‘Period’ It usually lasts from 3-7 days. Besides bleeding, there may also be: Cramping in your belly or side Lower back pain Mood swings and irritability Headache and fatigue (very tired).

Don’t be afraid to talk to your mother! NO! YES!

1 Cycle: From the first day to the next first day. Some girls will find that their menstrual cycle lasts 28 days, others might have a 24 day cycle, a 30 day cycle, or even longer. It may take the body some time to sort out all the changes. For example; a girl may have a 28 day cycle for two months then miss a month. Usually, after a year or two, the menstrual cycle will become more regular.

Will other people know you are having your period? No way! You may feel like you are different at this time of the month, but people will not notice. At any one time, 20% of all young women will be having their period. Can you pick which other students are having their period? or teachers? Do you know when your mother is having her period, unless she tells you? Only you will know, unless you tell someone yourself.
