Edward deBono Six Thinking Hats An aid to decision making and problem solving Illustrated by Vince Borg Education Leeds

The Red Hat Think of fire, feelings and warmth Prinaša občutja – čustva in intuicija postanejo legitimni del razmišljanja. What do you feeel about the suggestion? What are your gut reactions? What intuitions do you have? Don’t think too hard and too long.

The White Hat Think of a sheet of paper, računalniški izpis, podatke Prinaša osredotočanje na podatke in informacije ter nevtralnost v razmišljanju. What are the facts? What information is available? What is relevant? What is missing? How are we going to find the missing data? Be neutral in your thinking.

The Yellow Hat Think of the sunshine, happiness, optimizem Prinaša optimizem, željo po učinkovitosti v razmišljanje. What are the benefits, the advantages? Do our ideas work in the existant system? How could they be adapted? Can we modify the system? What the advantages of the new proposal? What are the concepts behind the proposal? Be positive and constructive.

The Black Hat pomislite na rob sodnikove halje Prinaša previdnost v razmišljanje in se osredotoča na potencialne pasti. Think of the shortcomings of the proposed solution. What are the errors, pitfalls? What are the risks, dangers involved? What seems to be logical? What could happen if we decide for this solution? Be cautious in you thinking.

Prinaša ustvarjalnost, iskanje novih idej in rešitev v razmišljanje. Are there any other solutions ossible? What are the alternatives? How could we overcome difficulties? What are other possibilities? Could we adapt/change/improve ideas? How would they work in practice? Be creative in your thinking. The Green Hat pomislite na vegetacijo in rast, na gibanje in naravno energijo, na popke in razvejanost

How shall we start? Who’s going to … ? How much time have we got for…? What is essential in this solution? What does it mean? How can we summarise this? What would be necessary to realise this idea? Let’s look at this idea from a different perspective. Let’s think about it once again…Do we all agree with the proposed solution? Blue is for planning, organisation, monitoring and reflection. It sets the focus and call for the use of other hats. The Blue Hat pomislite na modro nebo, razmišljajte s stališča velike slike, postavite se v vlogo dirigenta
