Christ’s Strategic Commissions David Andersen Providence Bible Church

The First Commission “You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the nations” (Matthew 10:18) Here Christ targets leaders specifically as a means of reaching the Nations!

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and disciple all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20) The Great Commission

The Capitol Commission “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

The Leadership Commission The Commission of Saul after conversion: “He is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel” (Acts 9:15)

The Kingdom Commission “I exhort therefore first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (I Timothy 2:1-4)

Keys to Change the Nation David Andersen Providence Bible Church

Acts 6:1-7 “Now in those days, as the disciples were greatly multiplying, there became a murmuring of the Hellenists (for themselves) against the Hebrews, because they were continually overlooked in the daily service of the widows. 2) Now the Twelve, having called to themselves the multitude of the disciples, said, ‘It is not pleasing for us, in leaving behind the Word of God, to constantly serve tables. 3) But select carefully brothers, seven men from among you, those continually witnessed to be full of the Spirit and wisdom, whom we will appoint over this office. 4) But we will continually be intensely devoting ourselves to prayer and the ministry of the Word.’ 5) And this word pleased all the multitude, and they chose (for themselves) Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and Phillip and Prochorus and Nicanor and Timon and Parmenas and Nicolaus a proselyte of Antioch, 6) Whom they set before the Apostles, and having prayed they laid their hands on them. 7) And the Word of God was continually growing, and the number of disciples in Jerusalem continually greatly multiplied exceedingly, and especially, a great crowd of priests became continually obedient to the faith.”
