If so, what was it like? If not, what are your impressions of the court system from film, television, newspapers, magazines, and books? 3. What is the overall goal of the U.S. judicial system? 4. A primary purpose of the U.S. court system is to ensure justice. Do you think it does that? 2 2

Essential Questions What does the constitution specifically say about the structure of the nation’s judiciary? How did Congress decide to structure the rest of the nation’s judiciary? What are two kinds of legal conflicts, and how do they differ? How does the process by which jury members are selected help ensure justice in a courtroom?
