The Legislative Branch Main function is to make laws. Consists of the House of Representatives and the Senate Senators have 6 year terms Representatives are elected for 2yr. terms Powers are shown on the chart on page 202. Set up in Article 1 of the Constitution
The Executive Branch Responsible for carrying out the laws. Made up of the President, Vice President, and any advisers appointed by the President. Commander in Chief of the armed forces Responsible for directing foreign relations. Set up in Article 2 of the Constitution
The Judicial Branch Supreme Court and other federal courts. Hear cases involving the Constitution or any laws passed by Congress. Hear cases arising from disputes between states. Set up in Article 3 of the Constitution.
