Statistics on Teenage Health Poor Nutrition & Exercise: 46 - 51 % of kids eat fast /junk food 2 – 4 times a week 2007 Adolescent Survey in AU : 20 % were eating the recommended daily servings of fruits and vegetables 14 % participated in the minimum recommended levels of physical activity Teen obesity: Affects 1 in 4 teens in AU and NZ 19 to 23 % of Australian teens are overweight or obese Associated complications include : diabetes, vision loss & neuropathy, heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and stroke

Statistics on Teenage Health Body Image Issues can come with particular health concerns. 1% of teens suffer from Anorexia 40% of people with anorexia nervosa are at risk of developing bulimia nervosa . 5 out of 100 people in Australia suffer from Bulimia nervosa. 6% of teenagers suffer from Bulimia Nervosa. The mortality rate for bulimia nervosa is estimated to be up to 19% Diabetes: 599,259 Australians are diagnosed with diabetes. For every one who knows they have it, another has it but doesn’t know it — yet. 1,500 people are diagnosed every week, 214 people every day, and this includes adolescents.
