No more, no less. What's underlying these statements, and what are some potential remedies? When people say they "don't have time," the fact is that this activity is not sufficiently high in their priorities to devote time to it. Few would argue the merits of exercise, yet recent statistics suggest that a majority of North Americans are overweight and physically unfit. Depending on the other priorities students have (get good grades, have fun, etc.), they may not choose to fit in exercise. Saying "I don't have time to exercise" is an excuse (a poor one, too!). Saying "I choose not to exercise," demonstrates the speakers' willingness to take responsibility for their actions (or inaction!) and clarity on their priorities.
