Effectively Measures Level with a Unique, Patented Method

n Patented principle of level measurement n More than 3500 tanks/silos currently using —since 1992 n Designed for “difficult” applications 2

n Tank heights up to 130’ (and taller!) n Dielectric constants as low as 1.6 (and lower!) n Up to 24 tanks per control unit (and more!) 3

n Available in many semi-custom configurations for temperature and pressure n Intrinsically safe, CSA, CENELAC versions are available 4

A system has: n A Control Unit that can monitor up to 24 sensors n One or more Sensors of a variety of lengths and designs n Optional Inventory Software 5

How it works: n A change in impedance echoes the transmitted signal n The phase difference between transmitted and echoed signals determines level Transmit signal Reflected signal is out of phase with transmit 6

Different than MIR (radar): n Much lower frequency, less affected by noise n Does not use timing to determine length, less error and longer lengths Transmit signal Reflected signal is out of phase with transmit 7

Applications n Changing/low dielectric n Dust/foam/vapor environments n Grain elevators/multi-tank installations n Tall/narrow silos 8 Designed for ‘Difficult’ Applications

Application n Changing dielectric only affects the intensity of the signal, not the presence of the signal n Not affected by changes in: n Temperature n Particle size n Density n Moisture content n Very reliable at all lengths down to 1.6 dielectric constant, some current installations have lower dielectric constants 9 Changing/Low Dielectric

Application n Because looks for the greatest impedance change and not the first impedance change, it can “see” through dust, foam and vapors in a way that technologies that rely on reflection cannot. n Ultrasonic, MIR and through-air radar will all reflect the first product they encounter which will generate a false reading in dust, foam, and vapor environments 10 Dust/Foam/Vapor Environments

Application n One control unit can control up to 24 sensors measuring dissimilar products in different size silos n There are many 48 tank systems and some 64 tank systems currently installed n System architecture allows a customer to add new sensors after original installation, which accommodates growth 11 Grain Elevators/Multi-tank Installations

Application n is transmitted along a specially designed cable that minimizes signal loss n Very reliable to 130’, some current applications are up to 150’ n measures a 6” radius around the sensor cable n Not affected by corrugated side walls, cross members n Inherently immune to product coating 12 Tall, Narrow Silos

Control Unit n 16 character LCD/ integral keypad n Setup, calibration, diagnostics and tank level readout n RS-232 and modem connection n All keypad functions can be performed remotely n 4-20 mA outputs (optional) n SPST relays for high and low level alarm (optional) n NEMA 4X molded enclosure 13

Sensors n Several sensor types: n Tefzel jacketed steel (standard) n 10’ to 130’ n -140 o F to 300 o F n Sensors can be mounted up to 400’ from control unit n Several mountings and terminations available n Determined by application and sensor type 14

i-LEVEL  software n Win 95/98 NT/2000/XP inventory management software n Use RS-232 or modem for remote management or inventory n Trending and data logging n Export data via DDE 15
