Mission and Vision Mission The Eleanor Roosevelt Center inspires and empowers individuals and organizations to use their time, talent and resources to build a just and sustainable world, close to home and abroad. Vision To be the premier organization which provides cutting edge programs and experiences epitomizing Eleanor Roosevelt’s passion and commitment to human rights, principled leadership and social justice for all.

Goal 1: Keep Eleanor Roosevelt’s vision in action through the Eleanor Roosevelt Leadership Legacy Program Objective 1: Develop an integrated, socially conscious leadership development model to use in creating programs for girls, boys and women.  Strategy 1.1 a: Increase number of GLW applicants by 10% per year ( ) 1.1 b: Diversify GLW applicants by 10% per year ( )  Strategy 1.2: Develop and deliver an afternoon leadership program for middle school girls ( )  Strategy 1.3: Create and implement a leadership program for boys ( )

Goal 2: Foster relationships and collaborative efforts within our mission that support the Strategic Plan Objective 1: Enhance existing relationships and develop new ones  Strategy 1.1: Engage other organizations doing work similar to our mission and vision ( )  Strategy 1.2: Establish joint ventures with businesses and organizations ( )  Strategy 1.3: Develop and engage a thriving community of program alumnae ( )

Goal 3: Develop Resources to accomplish the mission/strategic plan Objective 1: Achieve Financial Sustainability  Strategy 1.1: Create a three-year financial plan that focuses on funding the goals of the strategic plan ( )  Strategy 1.2: Develop and implement an aggressive long-range development plan that includes broad-based fundraising, memberships, planned giving, grants and endowment growth ( )  Strategy 1.3: Expand donor base and level of contribution by 15% ( )  Strategy 1.4: Make giving to ERC easy and accessible using all applicable tools; track methods of giving and adapt tools accordingly (2011)

Goal 3: Develop Resources to accomplish the mission/strategic plan Objective 1: Achieve Financial Sustainability (Continued)  Strategy 1.5: Ensure that new programs are in keeping with mission, are funded or have real potential for funding ( )  Strategy 1.6: Expand revenues through diversified funding streams including restricted and unrestricted funds from private (individual, corporate, foundations, special events, etc.), government and member generated sources income (product sales, retail and programs) ( )  Strategy 1.7: Develop at least four annual fund-raising special events that include collaboration with other organizations or are supporter driven ( )  Strategy 1.8: Develop modular curriculum, e-learning capabilities, webinars and other training tools for leadership and human rights development ( )

Goal 3: Develop Resources to accomplish the mission/strategic plan Objective 2: Create an organizational infrastructure that supports the mission and organization.  Strategy 1.1: Hire and develop a stable, highly qualified and motivated staff that actively delivers the organization’s mission ( )  Strategy 1.2: Identify capacity needs and plan for capacity development (2011)  Strategy 1.3: Develop and implement a volunteer recruitment and work plan (2011)  Strategy 1.4: Acquire up to date technology hardware and software (2011)

Goal 4: Achieve local, national and international recognition and visibility Objective 1: Develop compelling, relevant and ongoing communications campaign which inspires people of diverse racial, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds to participate in our programs and support our mission.  Strategy 1.1: Establish a speaker’s bureau ( )  Strategy 1.2: Engage Medalists and other celebrities as spokespeople ( )  Strategy 1.3: Promote public dialogue about leadership, human rights, social justice in keeping with Eleanor Roosevelt’s ideals ( )  Strategy 1.4: Re-brand the organization (2011)
