Success Training Part 2 Create Your Vision

Career Personal Development Relationships

Steps to a Better Life Check Your ID Create Your Vision Develop Your Travel Plan Master the Rules of the Road Step into the Outer Limits Pilot the Seasons of Change Build Your Dream Team Win by a Decision Commit to Your Vision

Step 1: Take Inventory Thinking on purpose… What do you like doing the most? What gives your life meaning? When do you feel most energized and alive? What are your talents?

Step 2: Using Your Imagination Use your imagination to create your reality… Based on your talents and interests, visualize yourself in a career…

Step 3: Setting Goals Goals should be…  Realistic  Meaningful  Well-Defined  Exciting  Progressive  Fine-Tuned  Acted Upon  Part of a Healthy Life

Realistic > Meaningful > Don’t waste your time setting unrealistic goals. Focus your goals on your vision. Don’t set goals that lead you nowhere in particular.

Well-Defined > Exciting Set a specific destination and a time you want to get there. Create a timeline for yourself of the steps along the way and when they should be completed. Goals should excite you! Put the emphasis on you because this is your vision!

Progressive > Fine-Tuned Goals should follow a logical progression. ◦First, I need to… ◦Then I will… ◦So that I can then… Goals may need fine tuning. Realistically, things can happen as you pursue your vision of a better life, so your goals may need fine tuned along the way.

Acted Upon > Part of Healthy Life Goals should require positive action! The primary purpose of goals is to get you moving in the right direction. Goals should not isolate you. Don’t let your goals and vision steer you away from a happy, healthy life.

For goals to be effective, they need to be built around some guiding principles— your values and beliefs. Goals: The Game Plan of Life

Step 4: Role Models & Mentors A role model is someone you admire and would like to model your life after. A Mentor on the other hand, is an adult who acts as a trusted counselor or guide. Mentors can help you not only establish goals, but can offer you encouragement along the way.

Step 5: Staying Focused Step 6: Enjoying the Journey To be successful, you must follow through and stay focused in life, if not, you will loose power and direction. Remember, this is a long journey, a life’s journey, and you want to savor and enjoy each step along the way.
