Lead-in 1. Ask students what they know about PricewaterhouseCoopers and the services that they offer. A pre-listening exercises focuses attentions on some of the activities that the speaker mentions on the cassette. You may need to go over the answers to this section in order to make sure that students have grasped the main ideas. 2.Students should try to complete the exercise before listening to the cassette.

Reading This text is part of an IBM guide to help people to understand how financial information is presented in an annual report. Although this is quite a complex area of business English, this text explains clearly and concisely exactly what types of information can be found in the different parts of an annual report. It is important to point out that this particular document deals with the required and standard sections for American listed companies. As mentioned earlier, each country has its own regulations in matters of accountancy and this also applies to how information is presented in an annual report.
