Overview of Las Caras Lindas  Las Caras Lindas I Defining Ourselves As Women  by helping diverse girls and women to understand themselves as individuals, members of their community and leaders in society.  Based on a culturally appropriate intervention that combines a strengths based approach with an ecological framework. B ACKGROUND & H ISTORY Founded in 2006 as an 8-week summer program developed into a 6- month mentoring program for African American & Latina girls expanded services to serve the needs of diverse girls and the women around them. LCL S OCIALLY RESPONSIBLE E NTREPRENEURSHIP LCL’s InterCambio Program InterCambio was designed to support women innovators in our communities who have demonstrated a commitment to addressing the needs of communities by building a sense of spirit and solidarity. Alejandra Rodriguez is a graduate of the LCL program who partnered with the InterCambio program to raise funds in support her goal to become Miss Illinois Latina 2010.
