Association of PUPPIES* (a sample of PPT-only eLearning) What is on this slide? *The Association of Puppies (AOP) is a fictional group. This is for demonstration purposes only. This presentation is a sample only. It is meant to illustrate the functional use of a number of PowerPoint’s features in ways that they can be applied to eLearning courses. It is not meant to be an example of graphic or instructional design. Continue On this slide: A Title Master slide was used, so the dog house scene, menu footer, and title banner will not need to be recreated for title slides in the future. The default Advance on Mouse Click has been disabled, so the learner must click the button to advance. The “greying out” behind the opening disclaimer text box and this one is a grey rectangle with its transparency increased. Shapes were used to create all the visual, non-text elements. This includes the 6 grouped shapes used to create the paw print and arrow that act as the Next button. The top banner is a shape filled with a line pattern, intended to look like a leash. Everything that appears or disappears does so based on on-click entrance and exit animations that are set to work when specific objects on the screen (the buttons in this case) are clicked.

What is on this slide? About AOP Select a topic above to learn more. FoundedMissionHelp Us FoundedMissionHelp Us Founding InformationMission Statement TextHow You Can Help Text On this slide: A Section Header Master slide was used. Advance on Mouse Click has been disabled. The “greying out” behind this text box is a grey rectangle with its transparency increased. Shapes were used for all the visual, non-text elements. Everything that appears or disappears does so based on on-click entrance and exit animations that are set to work when specific objects on the screen (the topic titles in this case) are clicked. This is a more complicated slide because in order for the dropdowns to open and close at the right times they must all appear on the slide before they can disappear. This is accomplished using a white shape that sits in front of the dropdown shapes at the start of the slide. The white shape and the dropdowns are all timed to disappear after about half a second. Then they re-appear on click. To “grey out” the topic titles the original black text boxes are set to disappear on-click and duplicates with grey text appear in their places.

What is on this slide? Your Puppy’s Needs Your new puppy is so cute! Click below to see what it needs. Food and Water Grooming Attention Text On this slide: A Title and Content Master slide was used. Advance on Mouse Click has been disabled. The “greying out” behind this text box is a grey rectangle with its transparency increased. Shapes and clip art were used for all the visual, non-text elements. This includes the 5, combined, grouped shapes used to create each bone- shaped button. There is a grey copy of the Next button sitting over the full color one. The grey one disappears when the learner clicks the “Attention” button. This makes the clickable version accessible. Everything that appears or disappears does so based on on-click entrance and exit animations that are set to work when specific objects on the screen (the buttons in this case) are clicked. This is a more complicated slide because each button has to control the appearance and disappearance of all the objects in the content frame at once. It also requires the use of a white shape to hide the images not currently in use.

What is on this slide? Care for Your Puppy Now Your puppy will not leave you alone. It is jumping and wagging its tail. Which of the following does it most likely want? Food and Water Grooming Attention Try Again Right! You play fetch with your puppy and then it lays down to rest. Probably not. You try to brush your puppy but it will not sit still long enough. Probably not. You give your puppy fresh water and food but it ignores them. On this slide: A Title and Content Master slide was used. Advance on Mouse Click has been disabled. The “greying out” behind this text box is a grey rectangle with its transparency increased. Shapes were used for all the visual, non-text elements except the clip art puppy. A combination of 3D effects, shadows, color gradients, textures, patterns, and shape merging were used on regular shapes to create the 3D objects. There is a grey copy of the Next button sitting over the full color one. The grey one disappears when the learner clicks the correct answer. This makes the clickable version accessible so they can advance when they answer the question correctly. Everything that appears or disappears does so based on on-click entrance and exit animations that are set to work when specific objects on the screen (the buttons in this case) are clicked. The bouncing ball uses a custom motion path animation.
