 When Hasan Al-Basri was young, he cried whenever he wasn’t near his mom. Because of this, she breast-fed him for an extremely long time and would take him out. There he would cling to the Companions of the Prophet and he would pray with them crying. This showed how the Qu’ran deeply touched him at a young age.

 Birth and early years  Born in 642 A.C. in Medina  2 former slaves, one a prisoner of war and the other a common house slave.  Started studying the Qu’ran at age 14  Jurist and scholar  100% committed to Allah  Voluntarily fasted  Taught the Qu’ran to many hundreds of peoplem

 Haran al-Basri represents the spread of Islam because  He taught the speaking of Allah to everyone since the age of 14 in the Mosque of Al-Basrah  He feared the authority of no-one but Allah thus making him a respected figure who people looked to for guidance  He had vast knowledge who no-one in his time could compare with. He obeyed every law and his main goal was to commit himself fully with Allah
