Motivacija SRA je glavni izdelek projekta I3E SRA podaja smernice za raziskovalce in razvijalce na področju: Vgrajenih sistemov (Embedded systems) in Industrijske informatike (Industrial informatics). Za regijo SEE Agenda naj bo usklajena z že obstoječimi platformami širšega in ožjega področja: Artemis, FP7, …

Področje, ki ga pokriva I3E - SRA Vgrajeni sistemi (Embedded systems) Računalniki, skriti znotraj različnih naprav (telefoni, avdio/video naprave, avtomobili, pomivalni stroji,....). Industrijska informatika (Industrial Informatics) Tehnologije, ki omogočajo upravljanje z informacijami in komuniciranjem med sestavi proizvodnih sistemov.
