Student Achievement To improve the design and implementation of instructional programs ensuring that all students attain high academic achievement and become productive citizens in a global society.

Goal 1: Student Achievement Objective 1: Student Mastery of Curriculum Objective 2: Student Success Objective 3: Effective Instructional Practices

Objective 1: Student Mastery of Curriculum To develop and implement a comprehensive system of aligned curriculum documents – Review, select, and adopt textbooks – Identify remediation strategies/interventions for below-level readers – Expand use of benchmarking software- TestGate – Review progress monitoring and make adjustments in instruction

Objective 1: Student Mastery of Curriculum To close the achievement gap between different student groups – Provide Rosetta Stone for ESOL students – Educate parents on understanding Lexiles – Reduce class size with Title I and II-A funding – Alignment of GPS and common assessments for SWD – Increase and differentiate instruction for low performing subgroups

Objective 1: Student Mastery of Curriculum Improve Standardized Test Scores at all Levels - Improve CRCT scores at all levels - Improve GHSGT scores - Improve EOCT scores - Improve SAT scores

Objective 2: Student Success To provide equity in programs, facilities, and opportunities that will enable students to successfully compete in areas of interest – Provide system-level support for fairs, festivals, and competitions – Continuation of the RTI (Response To Intervention) process at all levels – Document and monitor RTI process

Objective 2: Student Success To increase the number of students graduating on time with the skills they need and attending post-secondary institutions – Continuation of credit recovery program at MCHS – Nova Net and Odysseyware at Mont. Co. Achievement Center – Disaggregate standardized test scores at all levels and subgroups to increase focus of instruction – Graduation Coach/School Counselor conferences with students and parents – Predictor Tests for GHSGT and Writing Assessments

Objective 3: Effective Instructional Practices To focus instructional attention on core skills and best practices and competencies – Assist schools in identifying and promoting effective strategies for low-performing and high-achieving students (i.e., Reading First, Struggling Readers Workshop, ELT, Math Block, etc.) – Continue Co-Teaching segments at all schools – Participate in and/or review Focus Walks at all levels

Personnel To employ and retain caring and highly qualified individuals who foster lifelong learning and promote a positive climate for all stakeholders.

Goal 2: Personnel Objective 1: Human Resource Processes

To recruit, train, and retain highly qualified staff – Maintain status of highly qualified staff – Continue revising job descriptions – Establish relationships with colleges to recruit exemplary new employees – Post Ads on Teach Georgia; visit colleges as appropriate.

Objective 1: Human Resource Processes To ensure continuous staff learning and growth that builds capacity to support high student achievement – Specific training based on assessed needs (Reading First, Classworks, Testgate, etc.) – SEMTRACKER Updates and Training (IEP program for SWD) – Co-Teaching training for select staff members – Various training for Special Ed staff as needed (GAA, GPS, etc.)

Goal 3: Public Trust Objective 1: Community Satisfaction - Students, staff, parents, and community will be satisfied and involved with the direction of our schools

Objective 1: Community Satisfaction To improve instructional effectiveness by increasing the linkages between school, homes, and the community – The parent involvement coordinator will provide various workshops for parents – Website will be utilized to increase parent communication and provide updates and notifications of school functions/activities – Positive reports to media on accomplishments of students and staff – Home-School Connections or Agendas are provided to each student as a communication tool between school and home

Objective 1: Community Satisfaction To increase positive parental participation in school functions – School Councils – PTA/PTO – Public participation at Board Meetings – Continue parent, student, and community surveys – Focus Groups with Superintendent

Facilities To provide a safe, orderly, and inviting learning environment through continuous improvement and maintenance of all facilities in the Montgomery County School System.

Goal 4: Facilities Objective 1: Effective Operational Processes

To provide a safe and efficient transportation for the students of Montgomery County – Conduct professional learning/training for drivers – Continue to improve use of digital cameras on buses – Reevaluate the bus purchase schedule – Continue to work with principals and schools to increase acceptance of drivers as an integral part of the educational process – Upgrading of transportation director’s radio equipment and bus radio repeater system – Buses will be routinely and properly inspected, maintained, and utilized

Objective 1: Effective Operational Processes To maximize participation by providing students and staff with nutritious, tasty, and safe meals – Track number of students participating in SNP by paid, free, and reduced status – Maintain 3 ServSafe certified employees in the school system – Implement HACCP plan

Objective 1: Effective Operational Processes To develop systematic approaches to providing a safe learning environment for all constituents. - Review system and individual school safety plans. - Updating of system and individual school “phone trees” - School and System Representatives will actively participate in a monthly system safety meeting. - Develop a Facilities Maintenance Plan - Revise 5-year Facilities Plan to include a new facility for Montgomery County Middle/High School

Finance To establish an effective fiscal management plan that maintains financial stability and on-going accountability throughout the system.

Goal 5: Finance Objective 1: Financial Processes

To provide accurate financial information to facilitate the implementation of instructional programs and facilities improvement – Budget to ensure that grant and QBE funds are appropriated correctly – Record revenues and expenditures accurately and timely – Review revenues, expenditures, and budgets on a monthly basis – Promote energy awareness to achieve more financial efficiency and reduce system-wide costs for energy – Collaborate with stakeholders to include necessary allotments for facilities improvement and maintenance – Develop Grant Writing Team to secure additional funds for instructional programs and facilities

Objective 1: Financial Processes To assist and provide information to employees in a timely and courteous manner in order to promote a positive climate – Provide written salary information to employees for verification when hired – Provide written salary information to employees for verification when the salary is recalculated due to changes, including changes in education level, experience years, and number of working days – Provide information and guidance for benefits – Investigate employee concerns promptly and keep communication open

Objective 1: Financial Processes To provide accurate and timely reporting, develop a balanced budget, and efficiently monitor revenues and expenditures to provide fiscal responsibility – Maintain accurate financial records. – Communicate with auditors or financial review regarding questions on correct financial procedures – Attend conferences where state auditors and financial review representatives communicate changes in financial reporting requirements – Ensure audits contain all necessary information and no findings occur
