Physical characteristics Crabs have a shell instead of cartilage or bones. They use antennae instead of a nose to smell. The space between the tip of a giant spider crab’s pinchers can reach the length often feet long. All crabs molt from one shell to another when the one it was in gets to tight.

Habitat Crabs live far from deep sea. They only live in deep sea if they are at their homes [ near an under water volcano]. blue crabs live in estuaries along the cost of north and south America.

food Crabs eat edible wastes that are in the water, shellfish beds, seaweed, sea snails, mussels, decayed vegetation, shrimp, krill, and pretty much any thing that comes in their way.

Family facts Male and female crabs come together to mate in man grove swamps. Crabs reproduce by laying eggs.some female crabs simply release their eggs into the water, others keep the eggs wrapped underneath them.

Enemies The crab has a few enemies, some of them are:the baby squid, the octopus, the sea lion, and Orcas.

Interesting facts All crabs walk sideways instead of forward or back wards. They walk side ways because they have ten legs.
