Komen Central Virginia Breast Cancer Information All women are at risk If detected early, the 5-year survival rate is 99 percent Men can get breast cancer, too Until we find a cure, early detection offers the best hope for long term survival.

The High School Team Challenge (HSTC) was started by a survivor’s daughter, Lindsay Avner. It was after participating in the Race for the Cure with her survivor mother that she noticed that a whole age group was missing……teenagers/high school students. The High School Team Challenge

Komen Central Virginia The goals of the HSTC are to: Increase breast cancer awareness among high school students Raise funds to help support the Komen for the Cure promise Increase participation of high school students in the Komen Race for the Cure Have fun while positively affecting the community

Komen Central Virginia Kids for the Cure® is a 1K run open to children ages 6 to 12. Only children are allowed on the course. Kids Art T-shirt Contest Children ages 6 to 12 are encouraged to submit artwork as part of the Kids Art T-shirt Contest. Entry deadline is March 28, The winning design will be featured on the Kids for the Cure® t-shirts.
