Landforms  Yellowstone has lots of cool features  In 1872 the U.S. government set aside land for Yellowstone.  The Yellowstone park has a Grand Canyon.  The thin crust causes many of the parks thermal features

Culture  Lots of people lived in and visited Yellowstone  In the mid 1800s explorers started to travel to Yellowstone.  John Colter is known as the first white man to see the Yellowstone area.  American Indians have lived in Yellowstone area for more then 10,000 years.

Waterways  There are three main kinds of waterways in Yellowstone steam vents, hot springs and geysers.  Old Faithful is the most famous geyser of the park.  Old Faithful was in Yellowstone for more then 100 years.  Old Faithful shoots 45 to 120 minutes and 200 feet high.

Rocks and Minerals  There’s lots of rocks and minerals in Yellowstone.  The oldest rocks are gneiss and shist.  Yellowstone has some shale rocks.  Yellowstone has some limestone rocks.
