V. 7 ANP German Committee of Standards Users Technical experts Technical people (e.g. developers, design engineers, test engineers, purchasers, logistics managers), who perform highly qualified roles as technical experts. They come up against standardization in their specialist work in that they require, for example, standardized methods, processes, metrics or products. Standardization experts These technical experts are personally engaged in standardization and, with their knowledge, represent the interests of their company in national or international standards bodies. V. 8 ANP German Committee of Standards Users Standardization manager This is a member of staff who is responsible for the purchasing and distribution of standards. He is aware of the benefits of standardization (the application of standards), is to some extent operationally linked into the company's standardization strategy, and is frequently seconded to standards work as an expert. Management This is the level of departmental managers, managers of divisions or areas. At this level, only strategic questions are important. The benefits of standardization are assessed using quantative, qualitative and political methods or objectives ("standardization is the boss's business"). ANP contacts (II)
