March amulets- a tradition to us, Romanians

Mărţişorul (March amulets) is a great habit to offer particularly females or children March 1 small ornaments accompanied by a red and white string. Although today's ancient significance was lost largely Mărţişorul still being widely used today. In this material we will update the part of the spiritual meaning behind this particular habit.

Historical origins Archaeological findings show that celebrate the arrival of spring since 8000 years ago. And Dacian spring symbols were made in winter and wore only after March 1. Martisoarelor were then inspired red and white pebbles on a thread. Other sources indicated that martisoarelor consist of coins that were hanging from thin threads of wool, black and white. Type of currency: gold, silver or bronze indicate social status. They were worn for good luck and have a good time. The Gauls believed that these amulets brought fertility, beauty and prevent sun-scorch. They were worn until the trees begin to bloom and then hung from their branches. The red line denotes the fire, the heat of the sun. White lead, this past winter.

At the end of the nineteenth century was received Mărţişorul girls and boys, irrespective of the parents on the morning of March 1, before sunrise. Mărţişorul that cling to a metal coin silver and sometimes gold, hand tied wear sometimes caught in the chest or throat. He was removed, according to the ethnographic area at a certain first-summer celebration or the blossoming of bushes and fruit trees (wild rose, blackthorn, rose, hawthorn, cherry, apricot, cherry, etc.) and hanging on the branches înflo-rite. It was believed that the carriers will be healthy and beautiful Trinket flowers, pleasing and sweet, rich and lucky, free from disease and evil eye. Aromanians put Mărţişorul the eve of March 1, on the evening of 28 or 29 February. According to some traditions, Trinket thread, rope 365 or 366 days, was spun Dochia while climbing the mountain sheep. Such Fates who spin the thread of life at birth, Dochia spins the thread of spring, the birth of agriculture. Since Romanian and Aromanian habit was taken over by other nations in Central and South-Eastern Europe.
