The ELA Lessons and Reading First Districts with Reading First must have 90 minutes of basal reading instruction. Use the CSCOPE lessons only if there is additional time allotted for language arts instruction.
The CSCOPE Lessons and Developmental Reading Skills In the elementary grades K-5, teachers use their basals, phonics programs, and spellers, and grammar books to teach the basic skills. They use the CSCOPE lessons to teach the TEKS.
