I NTRODUCTION Microsoft Access 2007 is the most popular database management programs known in the world. Anybody who deals with data and needs to be fully organized can take a good advantage of Microsoft Access to organize their data for most efficient usage. The process manual for Microsoft Access 2007 is to guide users through creating a table.

H OW TO CREATE A T ABLE Step 1 : Click -on the Start button in the lower left corner of the screen, then click -on Programs, and then click -on Microsoft Access 2007.

H OW TO CREATE A T ABLE You will see – Getting Started with Microsoft Office Access. Below the title you will see a Blank Database button

H OW TO CREATE A T ABLE Step2: Click the Blank Database button. As soon as you click the Blank Database button, the right side of your Access screen will change and look like the image on the right

H OW TO CREATE A T ABLE Step 3: To choose the Drive, on which you will save your Access database, click the small folder to the right of File Name: Save your work on your Computer Drive

H OW TO CREATE A T ABLE Congratulation! You have successfully created a database. Your Access 2007 screen will now change again –the image to the right

H OW TO CREATE A T ABLE Step 4: By default Access 2007 will create “table 1”, to create additional tables Click on the “Create” tab Click on “Table” located in the Tables group

H OW TO CREATE A T ABLE Step5: Click on the Home tab Click on the View tab Click on Design View

HOW TO CREATE A TABLE Step 5 Cont. A Save As menu screen will appear similar to the image on the right. Type personnel in the Table Name: area and then click the OK button.

H OW TO CREATE A T ABLE Step 5 Cont. Look at the image on the right. Click-in the area or space under Field Name and type-in Last Name (to replace ID). Click-in the area to the right under Data Type. Click the down arrow under Data Type on right (see arrow on right). Your design screen should look like the one on the right.

H OW TO CREATE A T ABLE Step 6: Repeat Step 5 and create different Field Names and Data Types. Type-in the Field Names as indicated to the right and set them to the Data Types. Repeat Step 5 and Step 6 for additional Field Name and Data Type.

H OW TO CREATE A T ABLE Step 7: After completing needed Field Name(s) Click View tab Click Datasheet View

H OW TO CREATE A T ABLE Step 8: After clicking Datasheet View the box located on the right side (Save Dialog Box) will appear. Click Yes Note: any changes made to the table will require will automatically prompt to save Dialog Box.

H OW TO CREATE A T ABLE Step 9: Enter “Harris” in the “Last Name” field. Enter “Linda” in the “First Name” field. Continue Step 9 for adding additional Last Name and First Name.
