Mission Statement- It is the goal of the Eagle Fun Run committee to improve the overall wellness of Campbellsville Independent School’s students, families, and staff by providing educational opportunities and activities emphasizing nutrition, character education, and physical fitness through a home, school, and community partnership.

Why- ChildObesity 180, Action for Healthy Kids, Happy Feet, and various other programs targeting healthy lifestyles. Studies show that promoting healthy lifestyle habits will increase the chance of students continuing these habits into adulthood.

What things are we doing? Special Days each month- February- Love your Heart (Cardio and Cholesterol)-served smoothies to every CISD student March- Green is Great (Vegetables/Fruit and Healthy Eating)- green fruits and vegetables served at lunch this week. Green fruit and vegetable samples available to students too. April- Sock it to Sugars (Diabetes Education, Gluten) PE/Health Classes (community partnerships/state and national standards) 21 st Century Afterschool Program and Program Review Committee joined with several community groups to work on this project.

Eagle Fun Run 5K Walk/Run and On Site Fun Run – Saturday, May 5 th at 8:00 am at Campbellsville Middle School – All CISD students can participate for free – Pre-registration is $10.00 (until 4/27) Race Day registration $15.00 Age groups- Middle School (grades 5-8) High School- grades 9-10, grades 11-12) Adult Adult Adult 31-older

What can you do? Sign up to participate- get friends and family members to form a team Sponsor a student (train with them and encourage them) Participate in our activities- M/T/Th- CHS -exercise videos, join a gym, use our local walking track Talk to your child about healthy lifestyle habits (plan healthy meals together, encourage children to try new fruits/vegetables, exercise with your child, etc).
