This process aids the creation of a State Adopted List. School Districts have high quality materials to choose from. Publishers have a contract with the State to allow schools to use these as basal materials for the contracted period. Publishers receive high quality feedback about their materials. Better Tools OR-IMET More Training Evaluators will have a full day of training Review Leaders (Facilitators) will have two days of training More Time with the Materials Evaluators will be given access to materials electronically and expected to spend two hours familiarizing themselves with each submission before the committee meets. Evaluation committees will spend a full day reviewing each submission.

Submissions will be put into a category based on the committee’s score. Exemplifies Quality Approaching Quality Does Not Meet Standards Scores and summary comments from evaluators will be posted on the ODE Instructional Materials site for all submissions that are reviewed. Publishers will be allowed to submit a response, which will also be posted on the ODE Instructional materials site.
