ARTIST AS A PEACEBUILDER INDIVIDUAL PROJECT ANGELA NDAMBUKI CEO, PERFORMERS RIGHTS SOCIETY OF KENYA

PROJECT Title: Artist as a Peacebuilder Form: 1 week Training course for artists/performers Target: 20 artists per training

JUSTIFICATION Issue: the project looks at the bigger picture of empowering artists to enable them become a voice in their community for positive change Audience: Artists/performers hold a special place in the community. They act as role models especially for the youth who are the future leaders. Hence having artists as these voices helps in moulding the thinking of the youth in the community. Form: The training is used in this sense as a tool to spark off ideas and inject a sense of responsibility in the artists that they need to become ambassadors of important issues affecting the community

PROJECT ACTORS FACILITATORS Trainers Donors Performers Rights Society of Kenya TARGET GROUP Artists/Performers Motivation of Issue: the use of celebrities has a wider reach and a bigger impact Motivation to attend: participants will get a certificate and possibly identify their areas of interest (ambassadors)

CONCLUSION The training will be conducted on a quarterly basis; last month of each quarter i.e. March, June, September and December. Each training shall have a product e.g. a song The success of the project shall be measured by the output of the performers and the impact of the society from the various art forms generated thereby.
