Amazon Rainforest; Assessment Activities The goal for students is to demonstrate mastery of the following concepts: SWBAT: define and explain the importance of our geo-terms; Bio-diversity; carbon-oxygen cycle, deforestation; sustainable development; tropical rainforest –hint, you MUST use these terms in your responses SWBAT: Understand the various groups competing for resources in the rainforest and why “land use conflict” contributes to the challenges in the rainforest SWBAT: Demonstrate “students ability to turn information into knowledge, THEN, knowledge into understanding”

Review of the activities We have read; written, discussed, argued, understood, argued some more, and LIVED the lives of 8 different groups in the Rainforest We have shared some BIG IDEAS Now it is time to prove you have mastered the material Be sure you cover ALL the interest groups in your discussions to show you have mastered the concepts of land use conflict
