Drug Testing in Schools & Sports Teams Kendall Edelen

Are you ever in a situation in which you know too much about someone? Their bad habits included? You tell yourself it’s not true, but it probably is. Covering for them is dragging them deeper into their addiction.

How do drugs tear down the sport teams and schools, and how do drug tests help?  “When misunderstandings about the testing process are clarified, drug testing has been proven a deterrent to illegal drug use and a way for workplaces and schools to be proactive in substance abuse prevention. (DFAF)

 Most students don’t use drugs and have a right to safe and drug-free learning environments. School administrators need reasonable tools to stop drug users from ruining school for everyone.

How do illicit drugs affect all others on the team?  “1 in 4 fatally injured drivers who tested positive for drugs was under the age of 25.” (DFAF)

 “1 in 3 motor vehicle driver fatalities tested positive for drugs and this has increased 5 percent over the past 5 years.” (DFAF)

How does drug testing affect the user and their family?  “Testing gives parents an opportunity for early intervention and treatment.” (DFAF)  “Testing gives students a reason to say "no" when approached to use drugs.” (DFAF) o-have-you-seen/lindsay-lohans- changing-face-simply-terrifying html
