ENERGY CONSUMPTION CHART

CONSUMPTION PATTERN

REDUCTION IN SPECIFIC ENERGY CONSUMPTION AS A RESULT OF VARIOUS ENERGY CONSERVATION MEASURES ADOPTED THE ENERGY EXPENDITURE HAS COME DOWN DESPITE INCREASE IN CONNECTED LOAD

CTO BUILDING - MADURAI ON THE BASIS OF THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF VARIOUS ENERGY CONSERVATION MEASURES ADOPTED, THIS BUILDING HAS BEEN SELECTED FOR THE CONTEST

MAJOR ENERGY SAVING MEASURES ADOPTED REPLACEMENT OF 54 NOS. OLD W/T A/C UNITS BY 34 NOS. NEW SPLIT A/C UNITS REPLACEMENT OF CONVENTIONAL TYPE POWER PLANT WITH SMPS POWER PLANT REPLACEMENT OF ( 6 X 7 TR)OLD PACKAGE A/C PLANT WITH ( 4 X 7 TR ) NEW PACKAGE A/C PLANT REPLACEMENT OF DEFECTIVE CAPACITORS BY NEW CAPACITORS AND GOOD PF MAINTAINED

REPLACEMENT OF AC UNITS OLD UNIT REPLACED BY NEW S/T AC UNIT

REPLACEMENT OF AC UNITS 54 NOS. OUTLIVED A/C UNITS UNITS HAVE BEEN REPLACED BY 34 NOS NEW S/T A/C UNITS RESULTING IN A SAVING OF RS.8,99,360/- PER YEAR.

REPLACEMENT OF AC UNITS Energy consumption details for W/T,S/T AC Units DescriptionsOld After replacement NewExisting No. of units Power consumption (in KW)2.42 No of working hrs/day888 No. of days working365 Total Energy consumption in KWh Total Energy consumption before replacement (for107 AC units) in KWh Total Energy consumption after replacement for(34 new units +53 old units) 87 Ac units in KWh Savings in energy Savings in Rs.5/

REPLACEMENT OF CONVENTIONAL POWER PLANT WITH SMPS POWER PLANT

THE EXISTING CONVENTIONAL TYPE POWER PLANT HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH SMPS POWER PLANT RESULTING IN A SAVING OF RS.62,550/- PER YEAR

REPLACEMENT OF CONVENTIONAL POWER PLANT WITH SMPS POWER PLANT Power saving by replacing conventional power plant by SMPS power plant Description Conventional Power plantSMPS power plant Efficiency of power plant82.64%95% Output power ( KW)7.5 Input power (KW) Total energy consumption/year (Kwh) Total cost of the energy (Rs.) Savings in Energy /year (Kwh) Savings in cost/year (Rs.) 62550

REPLACEMENT OF DEFECTIVE CAPACITORS

THE DEFECTIVE CAPACITORS IN THE POWER FACTOR IMPROVEMENT PANEL HAVE BEEN REPLACED RESULTING IN A SAVING OF RS. 30,799/- PER YEAR. POWER FACTOR ALWAYS > 0.98

REPLACEMENT OF PACKAGE AC UNITS 4+2 X 7 TR REPLACED WITH 3+1 X 7 TR

REPLACEMENT OF PACKAGE AC UNITS THE EXISTING 4+2 X 7 TR PACKAGE AC PLANT HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH 3+1 X 7 TR PACKAGE AC PLANT RESULTING IN A SAVING OF RS /- OLDNEW EXPENDITURE

REPLACEMENT OF PACKAGE AC UNITS Energy consumption details for PAC units DescriptionOldNew No. of units43 Power consumption (in KW) No of working hrs/day18 No. of days working365 Total Energy consumption in KWh Savings in energy Cost of Rs.5/-unit Savings in cost other savings Cost of not providing 2 nos 7TR PAC Rs.3,50,000/unit (A) Saving in energy for 1 hrs/day working for 365 days Cost of Rs.5/-unit (B) Total savings (A+B)

PROPOSED ENERGY SAVING MEASURES IN CHANGE OF EB TARIFF OF 21 NOS S/Q 2. REPLACEMENT OF FL. FITTINGS WITH ENERGY EFFICIENT FITTINGS 3.PROVISION OF WATER LEVEL CONTROLLER FOR PUMPS 4. CREATING AWARENESS AMONG STAFF BY CONDUCTING PROGRAMMES & THROUGH SLOGANS

CHANGE OF EB TARIFF OF S/Q AT PRESENT 21 NOS S/Q ARE BEING FED FROM SUB STATION & ENERGY COST IS RS.5/- PER UNIT ALL ELECTRICAL WORKS FOR GETTING SEPARATE SERVICE CONNECTION FOR S/Q ARE COMPLETED WHEN SERVICE CONNECTION WITH RESIDENTIAL TARIFF IS EFFECTED THERE WILL BE A BI-MONTHLY SAVING OF RS 14,700/- [ 21 S/Q X (RS 5 - RS 2.8) X 250 UNITS ]

WATER LEVEL CONTROLLER FOR PUMPS NEARLY 225 EMPLOYEES ARE WORKING & 13 NOS PUMPS ARE AVAILABLE ALL THE PUMPS ARE BEING OPERATED MANUALLY THERE IS A GOOD SAVING POTENTIAL BY PROVIDING WATER LEVEL CONTROLLER FOR THE PUMPS

INSTALLATION OF ENERGY EFFICIENT LIGHT FITTINGS 598 NOS TWIN FITTINGS & 316 NOS SINGLE FLUORESCENT TUBE LIGHT FITTINGS ARE AVAILABLE CONNECTED LOAD OF THESE FITTINGS WORKS OUT TO 60 KW IT HAS BEEN PROPOSED TO REPLACE THE ABOVE WITH ENERGY EFFICIENT FITTINGS IN A PHASED MANNER ON COMPLETION OF THE TASK THERE WILL BE A REDUCTION OF 18 KW OF LOAD

AWARENESS PROGRAMME ENERGY CONSERVATION AWARENESS WILL BE CREATED THROUGH PROGRAMMES AND SLOGAN STICKERS

APPLICATION SENT IN VIEW OF THE ABOVE MEASURES & ACHIEVEMENTS & AS PER THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE PCE(E) & SE(E), APPLICATION FOR THE ENERGY CONSERVATION AWARD HAS BEEN SENT TO BUREAU OF ENERGY EFFICIENCY

WE HOPE THAT CTO COMPLEX MADURAI WILL RECEIVE THE ENERGY CONSERVATION AWARD FROM BUREAU OF ENERGY EFFICIENCY
